A sneak peek from my upcoming book, Tears of Leadership
πͺ The Corporate Ladder Isn’t for the Faint-Hearted
A glimpse from my upcoming book: “Tears of Leadership”
Climbing the corporate ladder isn’t easy. It takes more than ambition ,it takes patience, discipline, and a willingness to grow in the shadows.
I remember how eager I was to move into management. I chased titles, applied for positions, and every rejection left me frustrated. One day, I asked my Regional Manager why I wasn’t being noticed.
His answer shifted my entire mindset:
“Your time will come. Prepare yourself now. Start acting like a manager. Speak and carry yourself like the company is yours and watch how doors open.”
Then he said something I’ll never forget:
“Don’t chase the position for money. Let it come from the heart. And when it does, please serve. A manager’s seat is a lonely place. Don’t use it to show off your power, but to lead with humility. Your branch will reflect who you are.”
Eventually, I became a Branch Manager and every word of his advice rang true.
Now I see so many young professionals eager to rise quickly. When promotion delays, some give up or move on. But leadership starts before the title. It’s in how you carry yourself when no one is watching.
To anyone on the rise:
Be patient. Learn. Serve. Lead now ,the title will follow.
Because when your moment comes, you won’t just be promoted…
You’ll be ready.
π My upcoming book, Tears of Leadership, will share more of these lessons including practical strategies to help you move up the ladder or simply grow stronger in your current role. Whether you’re aiming for promotion or want to become better in your career, this book will be your guide.
